This song has always been one of my favorites. Very good variation and tribute to our men and women of service.
The first time I heard this song was during our first ORI outbrief for a unit we stood up from scratch - the 27 Tactical Air Support Squadron at George AFB, CA. I had a hard time keeping a dry eye even then. My first operational assignment as a young 2Lt; it was awesome and a very unique opportunity.
Awesome rendition. I always tear up with this song. After DS's NROTC orientation, the unit put on a slide show, for the parents, of what the new Midshipmen did all week. It was set to Greenwood's recording. Got me then and every time since.
