“USMA requested waiver” processing time

DS received USMA “requested waiver” notice today on portal; it says be prepared to wait 90-120 days for a decision...

USAFA medical waiver was issued in under 2 weeks so, am wondering what others have experienced with the USMA waiver processing time...? (realize it “depends on the issue”)

Took about 6 weeks fro DD two years ago.

My DD's took about three days to process. It all depends what the condition is and where the file is in the admission process. The best advice is to provide anything requested without delay.

BTW, she did not get an offer of appointment the year her waiver was approved. There is just no way to predict the timing and outcome.

2021 son's waiver was requested in mid September and granted by USMA mid October and USNA mid January along with a color vision waiver. Typical waiting period for his waiver is at least 6 months.

Completely depends on the condition and when the waiver is submitted. Early is stressed for a reason. Waivers are submitted in the order that the disqualification is received from DoDMERB.

While this is technically true, all DQs are evaluated for waivers, the RC makes the decision to pursue based on the competitiveness oft he applicant on the potential slates.

I apologize for not being detailed enough with my answer. I was responding to the previous comment about a waiver taking 6 months. You are absolutely correct that waivers are limited to candidates that have a high likelihood (though not a guarantee) of admissions through the various avenues of admission (Congressional appointment winner, Qualifed alternate, etc). A candidates waiver can also just be stuck because they do not have any risks, but are not competitive for an offer of appointment which is why it is important to keep working to improve a file. Boosting your WCS can result in your waiver being pushed, so there really is no simple answer for how long a waiver takes, but the earlier that you start with the process, the more time you have to work through the process.
