⭐️ Countdown To Commissioning 2024 💫

LITERALLY ran into @Heatherg21 today after NMF in the Chapel. Got a hug, toured the crypt, museum and then picnicked enjoying the Angels with the best seats every.

I must say, im getting pretty good at this by round #2. Given a third opportunity, i could probably provide private consulting 😆

Seriously, another GREAT comissioning week moving along smoothly. Well done, USNA!

I love this!!! so glad you both got to see each other!! happy your week is going great - you are a pro!!! have fun!!!

Perfect weather today. We sat out on our deck and watched them rip the sky overhead and just listened. I love the high-speed passes when the solo bird screams by - just a touch more and they would kick off a sonic boom.

DH always listens with his eyes closed. Makes me think of this current ad by xfinity. This is the full clip. Fun.

3 + 2 at the beginning. Angel #2 was missing in the formation. About 3/4 of the way through the show, Angel #7 crept in and did some of the formations.

Assuming a mechanical or something on the way out from the airfield? Had to scramble the back-up?

"Launch the alert 5 aircraft!"

"Angel is supersonic, I'll be there in 2 minutes."

;)

Diamond was short one. Show was amazing. The fact that short one they still did what they did blows the mind.

Our DS does the thing tomorrow. We will be ready to change out shoulder boards and cover.

I’m teary eyed thinking about it. I teared up at Grauls today.

Congrats to the moms, dads, and families of the newly commissioned ensigns and second lieutenants. Some of you are already members but Welcome Aboard to the parents of military officers club. Not a real club but welcome anyway. May your sons and daughters go forth and do great things. Enjoy today and tell some good stories about the first salute or a special grandparent who was able to attend, etc.

Side note: Forgive me if this has already been mentioned but the speaker today is Sec. Austin.

For those who want to watch from afar, tune into the USNA Commissioning 2024 youtube site. Thank you to all of the amazing people commissioning today and all the folks who supported them along the way. My heart is swelling and my eyes are watering.

Mechanical issues at take off more than likely. #7 is the spare jet and gets moved around. If they are on the road long enough they will actually fly in another spare as well. I think they have a total of 11 jets these days. Also it depends on what jet has issues. So they will often move a 2 seater if they have someone doing a back seat flight. Typically the solos don’t fly a 2 seater. So sometimes it could mean multiple jet moves depending on what breaks.

Congrats! Enjoy the day!

Friends and family of 2024, enjoy this glorious achievement. And then hang on to your hat for the journey ahead. It's been two years since 2022 commissioning and next week, I'll be on hand at Camp Lejeune to pin on DD's 1LT bars. That went by quickly!

.
One of our daughter’s mentors, who is a retired Admiral & NA graduate … showed up out of the Blue on the football field after the ceremony

… and whisked DD away …. I asked DW and auntie Bev, what was that all about?

Her Admiral mentor is her 1st NAVY Salute …

I cried …
