I graduated the US Naval Academy in 2008 as an officer in the Marine Corps. I am currently deployed to Afghanistan. I loved my time at the Academy and am definitely enjoying my time in the Marine Corps.

I am more than willing to talk to any candidates or prospective candidates about what to expect out of USNA. While many repeat the mantra "A great to be from, a bad place to be," there are unbelievable opportunities for every midshipmen to learn, experience the world, and prepare themself for leading sailors and Marines while at the Academy.

I haven't returned to the academy since my graduation, but certainly look forward to doing so when I return home. For those of you who have been accepted or whose children have been accepted to an academy, congratulations. You all have a great time ahead of you.

My son has accepted his appointment to the class of 2015. We are very proud and excited about what great opportunities lie ahead of him (although I know it will be sad to say goodbye on I-Day) I love to read any posts from current and past midshipmen, it is great to hear about the positive experiences and the pride you feel about serving your country. Thank you for protecting us...and for joining this forum. Stay safe.
