Hey everyone, so I leave for NSI next month and my push-ups got worse after I couldn’t do them because of a shoulder injury. My previous max was 50 and now I’m at 40... in order to keep your scholarship at NSI you need to do 51 push-ups(good-low standard for navy). Does anyone have a link to a good plan to improve my push-ups by ~10 in 1 month? Also, do people actually lose their scholarship if they don’t meet good low at NSI? I intend on exceeding those marks as I get better but I’m just curious

Not what you want to hear, but if your shoulder hasn't fully healed, there is a possibility of re-injuring it. Have you spoken with your doctor or physical therapist?

No real secrets about it, just keep doing pushups. At points throughout the day do a set of 20-25 with good form and when you start to feel it getting easier increase your numbers. Make sure you are hitting 90 every time or the instructors will get on you for form. There were quite a few who failed the PRT at NSI, but did not lose their scholarship. The first official PRT you take is the one at your unit. However, don’t risk anything because the rules could vary from year to year. Do your best and crush the PRT at NSI and every time you take it from now on.

There are a few good training apps for your smart phone that help you quickly build number of pushups. I've done them and they work.
