Okay, so this may seem like a ridiculous question to ask...but is there a possibility of getting appointed even after you receive a rejection letter?
What?!?! I know, but I have heard that congress makes West Point send out rejection letters to those who have otherwise not been notified by April 15th? (or by some certain date.)

feel free to refute this claim...
some clarification would be wonderful

Based on the number of replies, I suppose I am the first (and only) person to hear about this...which probably then means it isn't true?

The same question was asked on the USNA section a few days ago and received a few responses. The consensus was definitely a "no" and historically it has been the same except in one or two rare cases a few years ago, when they didn't used to have a waitlist, or when there was a medical waiver issue that was later resolved.

With the competition so tight this year and the number of appointment acceptances already over the target anticipated (and there are some who still have to accept or decline their offers by May 1st), it sounds as though there is even a slim to zero chance for anyone on the waitlist. It actually sounds as though they are doing everything to cull the numbers this year - Go to the following link and read Jonathan Belmont's post #53 (he is from USMA admissions), to give you a sense of the NWL and the competition this year.

LIMBO

Would anyone know what it means to not to have received any communication from the admissions office at this late date.

Have all the triple qualified with nomination candidates been offered/denied appointments in writing . Or notified in writing that they are on the wait list?

What does it mean to not have received any written notification from admissions at this point in time after receiving a fully qualified letter and obtaining a MOC nomination months ago?

NYBEAR: pick up the phone and call admissions...calling will not negatively impact any decisions.
