Well my hometown is New York 40 min outside the city on long island at least there its cold cause the air is cold not the lack of heat with wind. Dont get me wrong though the mountains are awesome for the winter I snowboard every weekend i can. But theres no use in hot weather without my beloved ocean.

In addition I'm at Patrick Air Force base right now so I know what your talking about, its just that the beach is worth this type of weather.

I do love the mountains. I much prefer lower humidity. The only negative to that is when I dehydrate without realizing it. Plus, I like it when the temperature is cooler/colder. I will miss some of the climate in Illinois, but I think the trade-off is much more than worth it!
