Just to be totally sure, if I don't have the $2000 deposit sent in, then they will simply deduct $40 per month from my paycheck?

I'm just making sure because I didn't see that part mentioned on the deposit reminder.

I am not sure if they will do it automatically or not but, yes, the alternative to paying is to have it deducted from your monthly pay. Last year, it did not implicitly advertise this deal but said something along the lines of "if you cannot pay this, arrangements can be made with the treasury department". After speaking to some friends who chose this option, I found out that was the deal.

Thanks a lot! That's all I needed to know. So now I'm set for R-Day in June.

Baker-

Did you contact the treasury department? If so, what did they say?

That way I might not have to do a whole lot of working this spring!! :)

I just called the Treasury Department today. They said that the process is automatic; if you don't pay the deposit, you will have $50 deducted from you $225 per month pay.

That's what he told me. Apparently, we're being paid $225 this year and will have $50 taken out per month if we don't pay the $2000 deposit.

They just raised the pay last year from $170ish to $200 and now they are raising it up to $225? Wow, at least that means all the classes are getting a raised.
