You may remember that back in 2003, USNA was flooded by Tropical Storm Isabel.

Here is a photo album of the aftermath. I had not seen pictures like this before. UNREAL.

Just a sample:

The new Mids are lucky, as this made all those beautiful new labs and such possible. The upgrades are incredibly impressive.

WOW! Those are impressive. Must be Annapolis-on-the-Mississippi down in Memphis!

Ivan was terrible. We had 15 feet of H20 on our main drag. Fortunately, we live up on the ridge.

My son Interviewed a Mid in the class of 2007 this past summer. He had only recently gotten his class ring. As may of you know each class designs their own ring. His had several glyphs one of which commorates the flood they endured during their freshman - oops plebe year.

Kind of cool.

Hurricane symbol in the Atlantic on their globe.

Any ideas why they have 56 and 57 on their crests?

No, but this seems to be a recurring theme as other crests make reference to the class of 50 years earlier. Of course I'm assuming that it's a reference to the class of 50 years earlier. I'm sure somebody knows.
