I think that in years to come while the original justification to go into Iraq will continue to be debated, the appointment of General Petraeus and the adoption of the "surge" will be recognized as the key elements to finally achieving success in the Iraq war. Now hopefully we can start to bring some resolution to Afghanistan and show some significant progress there this year.

Finally, it's all coming to an end. I don't know why they keep debating the start...what's done is done, all we can do now is do our best with what we have.

I still remember the day war was declared...
