I came home once and had a call from a washington dc number and googled it, but it was only a well-known scam number

Actually, it was from my ALO, who had heard from the MoC. My ALO is on my congressman's nomination selection board and had told him about my appointment. He called my parents on Thursday, told them the good news, and gave them option of telling me or waiting for a letter from the congressman. They chose to wait, but when the letter still didn't get here by today, they decided to end my toture and tell me the good news. But they decided to give my ALO the honor while they watched my reaction.

So, if he hadn't called, Monday or Tuesday would have been the first I'd heard about it.

I finished my app jan 24th or so but just got cleared by dodmerb a couple weeks ago...
I was hoping my SAT score (1920) would at least help me with maybe a prep school or something...
