2014 Appointment Thread

Just rememebr that the last one to get a nomination and the first one to get an LOA all show up for indoc the same day.

Be Careful on Facebook!

Appointees need to be cautious when on Facebook or any other social website when connecting with other Appointees. Always remember that upperclassmen WILL view your postings.

A couple of years ago, a USAFA appointee set up a site for her fellow appointees. Some of the things posted sounded cocky and disrespectful to the upperclassmen who were running Basic Cadet Training. Suffice it to say that the cadre arrived with a list of names, which resulted in a MISERABLE BCT experience for several 4th class cadets.

Be careful of what you post.

On the other hand I say, Fahgetaboutit! The upperclassmen will always think the incoming class is cocky and disrespectful. Especially the types of mids/upper classmen who volunter to be DIs - you'll learn the monicker that the cockier of you will apply to them shortly after you arrive at KP. Enjoy it all and remember

"After Indoc is over, keep your academics straight and the priority and all the rest of the necessary time management prioritizations, you'll need to make will likely fall into place."

Congrats again to all the appointees to the USMMA Class of 2014, and remember this isn't the destination, just the begining of the voyage - :thumb:

I heard that stoary when I went to the USAFA-SS. Believe me I don't think I will make that mistake. I believe there were 3-4 girls and only 1 of them ended up making it past their 4c year.

I got my "LOA" early but it just said that I needed a nomination which, was...a pain

The USMMA appointments seem to come a little differently than those from the USCGA. Is there a possibility of being denied by USMMA due to for certain a one point miss on the English portion of the ACT and still be granted a prep school appointment? Other than on the USMMA website should I expect to hear any news in the mail? I know the web says "denied" though I have received nothing in the US mail.
