It might be more than "snail mail" that delays the BFE. Doesn't the USAFA usually notify the nominating MOC first and give them a week or so to contact the appointee and give him/her the good news?

At last!!! the wait is FINALLY over.. got my nomination from Senator Scott Brown (MA) yesterday... online file status changed to "Appointment Offered".. now I wait for the BFE!

Thanks to all on this forum that posted, I had plenty to read and it all helped me along the way!!!

Hopefully your updated USAFA status means that the other candidates with LOAs and Noms will soon the LOA statuses changed to "Appointment Offered" also. :thumb:

Congrats to everyone so far! Doesn't seem like a year ago that we all applied to the Summer Seminar! Just curious, how many of you appointees actually went to the Summer Seminar? I know that I was denied to the seminar and look where I'am now!
 
DS received an offer of appointment on November 19. He waited until his 18th birthday a few weeks later to sign the acceptance. We took him out to dinner, and one of his brothers recorded the signing on a cell phone video camera between the main course and dessert. :smile:

State: UT. He applied for the USAFA Summer Seminar but was not selected. He did attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar.

I went to it, and it was a great experiance. I'm so pumped for the Academy... I need a change in pace haha
 
I'm not sure I get to add my name to the list yet...

But, I received my NOM 1/4/11, and my LOA 12/1/10. Both to USAFA. I'm hopeful it'll say "Appt. Offered" in my portal shortly!

As did I attend the Naval Academy Summer Seminar. It was a very great experience but I just couldn't see myself there for 4 years if you know what I mean.

Mine, too. We were assured yesterday by an admissions counselor that the appointment offer would come soon and overnight "Appointment Status" disappeared from his online app/status. Now it simply says "Your Application is: Complete". Will add when BFE arrives.

My son's changed sometime overnight to "Complete" also. Hopefully we're getting close!:thumb:
 
ditto... my status is still candidate. It said before: Appointment Status: "Letter of Assurance" and now it reads: Your Application is: "Complete"... not exactly sure what this means but hopefully i should get stuff in the mail soon. My nomination was locked in on Monday and my nominator said that on his computer, my status read "Appointment Offered - Pending Official Notification" on Monday itself... Just out of curiosity, what does this mean?

I think/hope it means you will soon receive "Official Notification" (BFE) that you have been offered an appointment. Congrats....almost!:thumb:
