omnipsi: we are in the same boat.. gonna wait it out to see how things go and plus nominations will take care of some of the decisions...
 
Just received my LOA today. I have also received one form the Naval Academy. Does this give me a better shot at a nomination to either USMA or USNA since I have an LOA to both schools now?
 
HHS2011: Probably. Your MOCs want to see their nominees appointed. If they nominate those w/ LOAs, they know they'll be appointed. They will likely see the same characteristics in you that the academies did in rewarding the LOA. You still need to do the very best at your interviews, look sharp, and know why you want to attend USXA.
 
I sent an email to my regional commander after I got my LOA yesterday to thank him. He replied and in his email he said to make sure that I sent a copy of the LOA to all my congressional nomination sources.

I've completed all my applications for congressional and senate nominations.
However, will my MOCs accept a copy of my LOA if they receive it after the deadline they have set for applications to be turned in? (Deadline for Senator 1: Oct. 13th, Deadline for Senator 2: Oct 15th)
 
@omnipsi, sounds like you're working with Cornyn and Hutchison. Are you in TX, and if so what is your district? Congrats on the LOA!!
 
omnipsi: Chances are your MOCs already know about the LOA. Call their offices and ask the constituent services rep the best way to get the copy of the letter to them. One of my son's MOCs wanted it mailed, the other said to bring it to the interview; however, both were already aware of his receipt of the LOA.
 
Anybody know the chances of a letter coming to NC from this round still even though people in TX got theirs yesterday???
 
In years past, LOA info showed up on the DoDMeRB page before it showed up in the mailbox. I am not sure if this is still the case.

This was hit or miss in our area. Only two of DS's MOC had the letter, and one indicated it was just received last week even though DS received it in July.

Other nuances- One required a copy of the CFA, which if taken at one of the summer seminars the candidates do not receive.

Another required a letter from HS principle, and yet another attendance & discipline records in addition to the standard transcript.

Our learning? Make no assumptions! Read the nom appl very carefully, the wording & requirements vary.

Interesting - I just checked our online info to see if any of the candidates in the 3 districts I work with received LOA's and didn't find any new ones (not counting the ones I knew of in July). So congrats to those of you getting them now - must not be a whole lot going out even in this batch!
