I am assuming you are talking about the first group of appointments. I do not think that its mostly recruited athletes, but I could be wrong. I think it is mostly LOA recipients and other very strong candidates who got some kind of early nomination. I have an appointment (received it in December), and I am not a recruited athlete. But I am interested to hear from the recruited athlete side.

Does anyone know if the USNA has public list that shows those who made it in?
 
Others may know more, but to my knowledge names are never published. Class statistics are published know as "Class Portrait"
 
Haha...I love that list, Positive Thinking! :thumb: We have about a dozen of those floating around our house for the great Class of 2014!
 
We bought the Class of 2014 white t-shirt on I-day and then really liked the gray Class of 2014, the Mid Store had for sale during PPW and purchased that one as well. My younger son compared the two and found that there were already a few names deleted on the second one purchased - I guess those who didn't show up on I-Day, or didn't make it through Plebe Summer.

I also purchased a bag with the complete Class of 2014 listed on it.

Warning to new parents: you will have an unexplained urge to buy everything and anything at the Mid Store, on I-Day and during PPW. If you fly to Annapolis, make sure you have plenty of luggage space for your "must have" purchases!

Last year my DS rcvd his Presidential appointment in October, before he even had done MOC interviews, but from what I've seen from other posters here, that is not the norm, and they usually go out later.

Congrats to this week's new appointees!

Parents, I echo FaithfulMom's warning about wanting to buy stuff. Not only should you make sure you have room to carry it all, but you should also start saving...now! You won't believe all they have...and everytime we go, there is more. We went for a visit in October, and I almost didn't get out of the store without the cutest, and most unnecessary, pair of blue and gold knit gloves with little pompons on the fingertips! I was very brave and didn't spend the money...Maybe I'm maturing along with my Midshipman! :yllol:

Keep adding to that appointment list. We are pulling for you!

Congratulations to you and your daughter. My son is a plebe this year at USNA and I remember reading your daughter's posts last year. I'm so glad that she will have an opportunity to attend USNA. It is a great school. Get ready for an amazing ride!

lol.. I'm beginning to have mixed feelings about I-Day.
I just want to get it over with, you know? All these people saying I'm going to push the world out of orbit.. and my NASS squad leader taunting me on Facebook lol
