2016 NROTC Sideload

Virginia Military Institute here. I got a 3 year, and three others from my unit received one as well. Does anyone know how many were given out this year in total?

3-Year Scholarships
Nominations: 304
Selects: 60
Non-selects: 244

2-Year Scholarships
Nominations: 200
Selects: 19
Non-selects: 181 (automatically considered for Advanced Standing)

Advanced Standing
Nominations: 228 (181 carried over from 2-year applicants)
Selects: 121
Non-selects: 97
 
Does the entire battalion of non contracted students apply for side loads? Those in good standing anyway or is it just a select few?

It's an application process. Each midshipman needs to complete it, in conjunction with the staff, if they wish to earn a side load or advanced standing.
 
DS is a Civil Engr
3.8 gpa
possibly top 5 in unit - unsure
3yr sideload

1 other in the unit got a 3 yr.
