2016 USNA Mailbox Stalkers Club...

Off this track, have TWE's been mailed out already? We have yet to receive any notice,
not that I am looking for a TWE. Are any appointments still being made? People on the forum have talked about contacting the Regional Addmissions person to find out their status.
Is this an option and how do we find out who that person would be? I would just like to find out something so we can move forward. We are moving strongly toward plan B. Just hoping for a last minute miracle.

Tchase - wondering all these same things here in southern Ohio! On second thought, maybe this isn't the smartest thing I've ever done - to post my thought on this today - Friday the 13th:eek: But then, this has been such an "up is down" and "down is up" crazy LONG process, maybe this will be a GOOD LUCK day!!! Who knows?????...TIME WILL TELL:smile:

Yeah, Time is ticking down. Not only have I been Mail Box stalking but I have been Forum stalking to find out any new info regarding BFE's or TWE's being received. Does anyone know what is going on with the admissions process at this point? Any mailings going out today? What do we have to look forward to at this time? Any more appointments being made? Just curious.

I do not have any "inside" information, and maybe there is no "order" to letters being sent..but my DS received his "wait list" letter last week. In it, it stated that USNA admissions had made their 1300 offers of appointment. 70-120 were put on the wait list and no more offers would be made until after the May 1st deadline of accepting/declining from the 1300 offers. They would know mid-May to mid-June if they would be able to make offers to any one on the wait-list. The letter said their projected class size is 1190. So that means 110 have to decline their offers before they would even be able to start taking off the wait-list. :frown:

Now that is not to say that you who have not received a letter are not one of the 1300...or that you are not "wait-listed". I don't know anything about the order of how they mail letters. But I thought that everyone was supposed to have an answer by April 15th to where they stand. Good luck!!!

Well, nothing in the mail today. That leaves one more day of mail before the 15th of April. So maybe tomorrow....GEEZ I'll be glad when the wait is over, one way or another.

BOA...thanks for the info, it did help. It made me see that the TWE is most likely coming our way....and that it will be okay. My DS will excel wherever he may be, he just wanted USNA more than anything else. I am proud of each and every candidate that made it this far, you ALL will go far!! Good Luck to you and your very bright futures!

Yes, USNA is all my DS has dreamed of and worked so hard for as well. So the wait list to him meant "almost" making his dream come true... and "almost" grasping the brass ring. :frown: It has been a difficult week. He has a great plan B, but nothing to him is better than plan A.. Good luck!

BOA...Just wanted to let you know that I found out today that my son has also been waitlisted. Have yet to receive any mail regarding this, but he emailed hs AC and was told to call the Nominations and appointments office and they informed him. Was also told that about 200 have been waitlisted.

So, I suppose we are in the same "BOAT"...Good Luck

TChase...Good luck to your DS!! My...200!! Looks like this "BOAT" is crowded! :shake: We were told 70-120 were on the waitlist, but whether it is 70 or 200 is irrelevant at this point. My DS has finally realized that there still is a glimmer of hope. The door hasn't been COMPLETELY shut. And to have made it this far is something to be proud of! :thumb:

Just called up my Admissions Counselor and was told my Foundation offer back in February was it. Not a TWE per say, but kinda the same thing I guess. Good luck to everyone else and see you next year!

I haven't heard anything yet. No calls, no emails, nothing. I've been stalking my mail box, and driving my parents and friends crazy over it. Should I be worried, or is it not unusual to have not been notified of anything by this point?

Hi Cortni,
It looks as if you should call your AC and ask him/her. There has been discussion lately about being on a waitlist and confirming with USNA you are OK with that if that is what has happened.
Cheers and Good Luck...

Cortni:

Most definitely contact your Admissions Counselor. You should have received some sort of notification by now. My DS has Yet to receive any notification, although admissions stated they had mailed about 2 weeks ago now. He was told that he was on the waitlist and had to email confirmation that he wished to remain on the waitlist.

Good Luck! BTW...My DS emailed his AC and that is how he found out.

Are people on the wait list racked and stacked and selected off the wait list just based on their the wcs or is it next in line from a particular slate/region/demographic group?

sorry not an answer-but more clarification

I think there is a difference between National Pool (which comes before the and National Waitlist.)

Class of 2017 mail box stalkers

Ok it's Feb. now... The mail box stalking is going on.Hoping to hear something from USNA for DD.

Patience?!!?

My DS asks four or five times a day if we have checked the mail... stalking the mailbox is now part of my formal resume! :thumb:

My son is a Plebe this year in the Class of 2016, however, I still watch the forums having gone through this last year. His Appointment was dated Feb. 8 and he received the BFE the following week. Our letter carrier left it on the front steps. He had a friend, however, who received his Appointment in late March. I'll say this is, by far, the most stressful time. Waiting....

Good luck to you and your Candidates.

Second Time Around

I begin now my second season of stalking....very, very disapointed last April 9th, but now start the process all over and hope for the best!!!!!
