2017 LOAs reporting

LOA received today, it was dated October 10.

I submitted the last piece of my application September 19th, so they responded very quickly. Another kid in my school also got an LOA, his was dated September 10th!

Stats:
SAT- 660CR, 760M, 770W
ACT- 34 English, 32 Math, 33 Reading, 31 Science
Ranked 13/200
Mostly honors/AP classes
Attended Naval Academy STEM and Summer Seminar
Varsity sports, class president, working on eagle scout, all that good stuff.

Don't expect them to hand it to you. Expect them to challenge you more because you have an LOA. What makes you special? What do you know about leadership? Why do you want to be at the academies, when you can be a hundred different places? You'll have to get up early,go to bed late,no one will tell you your a superstar? In fact it's all about your ability to build a team that's a superstar!

If your eager to answer these questions and you have an LOA,you are in the driver's seat. Good Luck:thumb:

Both my sons got LOAs prior to their MOC interviews. The interviewers were aware of the LOAs and basically had only one question: If you receive a nomination from this office, do you plan on attending the Naval Academy?

That was pretty much it. I'm sure it varies from MOC to MOC, but our experience was certainly not that it was a challenging interview. If anything, it had a perfunctory air about it.

Yet, it would be prudent for a candidate to be prepared, nonetheless.

Go Colorado!

Congratulations! Also from CO, 7th district out east. Curious - were you able to visit USNA, either NASS or a CVW? Would you share CFA numbers or sports involvement info? You're the first Colorado applicant I've seen on this site with a LOA, around here there's a lot of mailbox stalking going on!

Again - congrats! I hope to get a chance to meet you there next summer!
