If things have not changed from the past, I believe the completed packet would have had to be at Maxwell the Friday prior to this board.
That being said, it is important to understand the system if it is still the same. The board will meet for those 4 days. It is a room filled with officers at tables in a group. They are handed a pile of applicants. They will ALL score them, it is not just one person.
Now, here is the thing. It is a queue system. They will meet for X amount of hours, and if they don't get through all of them, than the remaining applicants will go to the top of the pile to be reviewed at the next board. There could be 1K applicants and they get through all of them, or there could be 2K, and only got through 1750. Nobody knows the pool size that this board will be reviewing.
~ They will email you and tell you when the results are released. it will come in 1 of 4 ways.
~~ Congrats, you have been awarded a type...
~~ At this time we were unable to determine.... you will be re-boarded.
~~ Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to offer you a scholarship...no mention of re-boarding
~~ Your package was not reviewed and will be during the next board selection.
ALSO, please, please, please trust me when I say this one thing. You do not need to start threads of has anybody heard yet from the Sept. board? This site will light up like a Xmas tree when the 1st poster here gets that email, good or bad. Don't believe do a quick search on this forum.
Finally, my last pieces of advice. IF you get that scholarship, be smart.
1. Don't stop working out.
~ To activate your scholarship you will need to pass the PFA. The PFA will be administered within the 1st week of school. I have seen too many posters where the candidate did well on the PFA for the scholarship, but busted it once at college. Some of them due to form, some because once they submitted the PFA, they stopped practicing.
2. Don't take risks.
~ Yrs ago there was a scholarship recipient on this site that during a snow storm thought it would be fun to hook an inner tube to the back of a truck and ride through the snow. Needless to say it resulted in broken bones, surgical pins and a new DoDMERB review since their medical history changed.
~ Not saying don't play sports, just saying, think about it 1st.
3. Don't be stupid
~ Fail a class because of senioritis they can revoke the scholarship
~ Prom night is fun, but it is not a FREE PASS. IOWS, getting pulled over by the police and ticketed with a court date for speeding bc you are running late is not smart.
~ CLEAN up your social media. Most if not all ROTC dets. have their own FB page. You join it, and they see your entire profile/history including pix. Kids your age think people my age are not internet savvy, but we know the backdoors when it comes to social media, mainly bc we have kids your age and we can see what they are doing without ever asking them. Trust me they are not dumb. That HS graduation party where you were standing next to a keg and a friend took a pic/tagged you on FB will be found. Not saying you were imbibing, just saying is that the 1st optical you want the det to see as a new cadet?
