Mostly at this point I'd like to know when he'd know about waitlist spots? Otherwise he'll stay and extra few days in NY. We have family there so it will be a great consolation prize :)

Is your DS/DD attending Navy and WP this summer.? DS is first session Navy, then WP. He'll take the Amtrak from Annapolis to NY. And he's hoping to be back in July for AIM.

DS going session 1 Annapolis session 2 West Point. What session is your DS? Are you going to drive him? Don’t accepted at AFA but it’s ok conflict with Florida boys state anyway. Glad he don’t have to decline. Hoping for AIM too,

So two years ago older DS did WP then Navy. The packing lists were similar, but don't over pack. They will get a lot of stuff at both. Also I think Navy gives them a small sleeping roll that they can then use at WP, we had purchased the exact same one. DS will fly into BWI then take the Amtrak to NY. Yes, we have family there so that's nice but I think he could handle it alone even if we didn't. After WP he'll fly home and if there isn't an open spot at USAFA he might spend a few extra days in NY. Older DS did not go to AIM so I have no experience with that one. He was accepted but declined.

I think Boys State will be better for your DS anyway. Current DS did not get nominated...long story...but older DS felt he learned a lot and met some other local kids on the same path.

My oldest, who graduates in 83 days... :D didn't attend any summer programs and only applied to USAFA so its all good.
 
Just heard he got in. Now he’s waiting to hear from Navy. He’s chosen all three sessions. He’s also waiting to hear about boys state in missouri
 
DD got accepted just wanting to hear from Navy. 2 siblings Navy 1 sibling AF and AF dad!! Talk about house divided lol!!

Does anyone know how long the wait list is? I am curious about my standing.
 
If this is anything like AIM, my DS got in AIM and his good friend was waitlisted, but later in the spring, the one session opened up for waitlisted to schedule (didn't matter what your position was on the waitlist. So hopefully it works the same for those of you waitlisted for this one! Good luck!

We are driving to Annapolis then going to stay at my inlaw’s north jersey. Not far from West Point. Hubby will pick up my son then we drop him off to West Point.. we start driving back home. Inlaw’s will take my son to the airport after WP to make it to Boys State. DS #1 went to Annapolis and Aim. He is in the class of 2020 at CGA. I’m familiar of navy and AIM. Not West Point. Our boys may cross some path 2 yrs ago... may be we’ll met next yr.

Which District in MO? Btw- my DS was not selected. I think he is fine w it though. Realizes it’s not a dealbreaker for future appointments and is still waiting to hear back on SLE and USNA SS as well.
