Does anyone know when prospective 2019ers will be notified of their official candidacy/rejection of official candidacy? I sent my NASS application in about a week ago and while I'm not expecting to be notified of my candidate status for a few months it would be nice to have an idea of when I should find out. Also will they only give you a number if your record is outstanding, or is this stage in the game a little less competitive?

Usually students are notified of candidacy in June or a little later. They give many, many unqualified individuals candidate numbers if that tells you anything about how competitive it is to get one. It's only the first stage of the game, and not nearly as competitive as it will become for you later on.

I submitted my NASS application back on January 16th and I received an email saying I'd be notified on May 1st.

I applied to NASS on January 17th of last year. I was notified of my selection on March 3rd. My candidate letter is dated May 25th.

Keep in mind that many people will receive a letter regarding their candidate status. It provides no scope as to how competitive you are. It is merely a first step in the long process of applying to the Naval Academy.

My daughter received her NASS congratulations email on 2/12/13 and her official candidate email with her candidate number on 5/21/13.

I also forgot to mention that I received an invitation to their CVW the week after I had applied for NASS.
