2020-2021 ROTC Scholarship Board Dates

Do you mean October 15th for when the interview score is submitted by the interviewing detachment? I am pretty sure the AFROTC application on the wings website is submitted to get an interview date and is not the finished application that would be reviewed by the board.

I can’t tell you much in regards to AFROTC. I believe I remember reading that the deadline for the October board submissions is October 15th.

If he is not successful with his NROTC scholarship application, he may want to look into the NUPOC (Navy Nuclear Propulsion Officer Candidate) program. He can apply while still in college and receive scholarship money to help pay for college through this program. Of course joining NROTC as a college programmer and seeking a side load scholarship or Advanced Standing is also a solid plan B.

We dropped my son off at his AROTC unit and one of the parents said their other son dropped AFROTC and switched to this Navy UPOC program and will end up with a masters when all is said and done. Sounds like a great option.

Thank you for posting this info. How far in advance of the boards should one hear that they are invited to interview. My application, to include DodMERB qualification, has been done since mid-August.

Thank you.

We just heard from our NROTC recruiter that the first board date for this years Navy board is Oct 23. Is that what others out there are hearing?

So exciting to read about the new cycle of those applying!! Good luck everyone!

We also heard NROTC October 23rd board. The local recruiter said if selected he would hear near the end of October.

Does one has to take the physical fitness test before submitting the application? Or can the PFT can be taken once the application is submitted. I have everything ready in terms of application for AROTC Oct boards except the PFT. I am still working on it and want to submit my best score.

The PFT must be submitted in order for your application to be reviewed by the Board. It is critical that you submit your best application. If there are areas that need improvement, there is no harm in waiting for the 2nd Board.

I am assuming you are referring to AROTC. If so, you are only Boarded 1 time. You can re-submit test scores after you are boarded - but the board will only review your application 1 time. That is why it is critical to only submit when you have the very best packet possible.

Good luck.

thank you so much. I am working on my physical fitness, I am able to pass it right now ( pushups 70 score, curlups 100, run 70). I want to be able to at least reach 80 or above in all the 3 events.

If you haven't already - search the posts by @Montana State Army ROTC - he gives some great advice about the timing of your submittal. He also discusses the importance of the PFT and how it fits in to all of the other parts. Keep working hard and good luck.

The best insight into this, since the dates are never published, is the MOI or AMOI. I assume, based on past personal experience, that it's mid November, but I'm sure the application deadline is far earlier.

Just got word that I received a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to my top 3 schools from the October 2020 Board. Status changed from Boarded/Under Consideration to Boarded a couple days ago. DODMERB medical status showed “Army ROTC” today and my portal changed to “winner” at about 4:30 this afternoon.

I am also applying to all three of the Federal Sevice Academies. Best of luck to all!

Each district has its own board so there may be different notification dates. For Marine Options they often let you know if you were not selected and allow you to update the PFT for the second board. I'm not sure there is a real policy on this, so YMMV.
