2020 Hopefuls

My DD just started working her nominations and applications tonight for the Naval Academy. Her goal is to get the nominations and applications completed this summer if she can break away from Gossip Girl. ;)

Hello all, my DD is a 2020 hopeful as well. Went to AFASS and is now very determined get her AFA application done by October. We are in Arizona. Let the fun begin! :)

You'll get an email from DoDMERB when you've completed half of the application

I've completed everything but the English Teacher Recommendation and CFA. They still haven't contacted me, maybe there is a timeframe they start?

My DD received a message on her portal in March after she filled out the initial application on line. The message stated that she was competitive and that she would receive word around
1 July 2015 with further instructions. So, my guess is we will hear sometime later this week about what happens next. In the mean time she is supposed to be working on MOC nominations, training for the CFA and asking for LORs from teachers and others. The roller coaster is about to speed up and here we go!

Why do I get the feeling this is one of those roller coasters that build up the hype by going uphill for a long time and then goes down slowly (the long waits ahead) haha.

I put the academy on the list to send to when I signed up for the test, but the scores still aren't on my portal. Is this normal?

Not sure, I didn't put any of the academies down to be sent my ACT scores when I signed up for the ACT. I paid afterwards to have them sent because I didn't want to send in the scores if I did badly on it.

Ok thanks for the reply. I'll just have to hope it shows up on my portal or I will just call my admissions rep. Thanks!

It might take some time for the ACT scores to arrive and be processed by USNA. If they aren't posted by the end of the month you should check with your admissions counselor.

Hello! USAFA/USNA (still having trouble deciding) c/o 2020 hopeful here. I hail from the great state of Colorado. Nice to meet you all!

USNA Hopeful,

Rest assured you aren't the only whose scores hasn't been updated . I took my SAT in June as well, ordered the express shipping , and still haven't received an updated notification. All we can do now is be patient and work on the rest of our package ! Best of luck .

Thank you!! But I do wonder why that is because all my nom sources have received the June ACT...

Because the SAs are extremely busy this time of year with SLE/SS, STEM programs, and I Day. I Day processing pretty much takes the entire USNA staff to prepare and execute. The admissions offices usually gets extra staff with just commissioned officers waiting for school dates. They all just came back from their leave and are starting to help out. This is also when folks would be changing around positions in the admissions office. They might change positions or regions, etc. Also before they ramp up preparing for the new class to apply, these folks do take vacations! They have families and its summer time. They get a few weeks of down time to breathe prior to ramping up again. They will get it all processed. Hang in there and continue to work on the other portions.

Hi Midmom20
My DS has also started the application process. He attended CVW last Fall and NASS session 3. Let the fun begin ;)!

One of 3 stops, hanging tight for Dd to submit applications. Most of her letters of recs will not be supplied til september. No summer program for usna or usafa. Girls State citizen. AIM week 3. Texas

My DS here in Texas has everything done except the CFA (going to try and do that right before they start contact in football so he will be in peak shape but not banged up yet). So here is my question. Has anyone heard from
DODMERB About scheduling a physical?
