2021- One month of CPR left!!!

TWE! Good luck to all remaining candidates!

CT - so sorry to hear. Best wishes for success at GWU, Georgetown, etc. Great unit at GWU, large one.

There is a very new unit at UMD too, in College Park, metro D.C. Area. UMD is a Yellow Ribbon school in VA program.

I am confident someone with your persevering qualities will succeed. You can certainly live a more "normal" lifestyle as an NROTC student.

Of course I'm assuming you are shifting course to pursue a commission that way!

My DS also CPR, had Congressional Nom, wasn't primary, but holding out hope that there's a reason he hasn't been sent TWE...I'm starting to think we are only family on SA forums
Thank you for clarifying. So then is the national pool drawn from once all slates are settled? Just trying to familiarize myself with all of this.

The national pool is used by USNA for a variety of reasons. The top 150 is the part mandated by law. They rank the top 150 by whole candidate score and then offer those top 150 an appointment (charged to a 'Sup' Nom) After that USNA chooses who they want to be part of the class (athletes, diversity objectives, and NAPSTERS potentially if they weren't charged to a MOC). Once they give out all of those appointments they ensure the class quote (1155 for '19 and '20) is fulfilled and then offer to applicants in the national pool to ensure the class is full. There is one exception though; 75% of all appointees from the national pool must have a MOC Nom, thus a MOC Nom will help if on the national pool (But no one is officially charged to a MOC Slate, they are technically charged to the Sup).

Thank you for explaining this!!

Reading about all these receiving a TWE is so hard. I know these kids are all like my son. These are kids who make good grades, stayed out of trouble, were respectful to their teachers, played sports, were good team players and were willing to give back and serve their country. These are the kids that will tutor and help a teammate pass a math class so he can stay on the varsity team, then cheer on that teammate when he takes their spot on a relay because he has a faster seed time. (True story about son). But these are kids that put others before themselves. These are all great kids, just heartbreaking to see so them be rejected. But good thing is these kids are all resilient and have plan Bs that are most kids reach or plan As.

We're traveling to DC this week for spring break and we have a tour appointment on Friday am in our MOC's office. If DD is still CPR by then, I'm threatening to ask "So, before we leave, is there anything you'd like to tell her while she's here?... anything?" :)
Assuming he is not knee deep into the race to avert a shutdown and cancel the meeting, look him in the eyes and remind him he was one of the first to be removed from a committee in two decade by his party! :D

Edit: bring umbrella/rain gear - 100% chance of rain in DC this Friday!

TWE here also. Glad to have some closure and will be moving to decent Plan B with the school to be still decided on. Some college acceptances have been received and some are expected by the end of the week. This is a great group of parents and candidates and I am really happy this forum exists. Of course I will be around for ROTC questions and college re-applicant questions. Class of 2022 candidates thread here we come!!!

Just got denied. Heartbreaking but at least it's known. Good luck to everyone still in CPR! And for everyone with a TWE, I wish you all the best with your Plan B's and hopefully we can become future shipmates when reapplicatoin opens up!

Received TWE today as well. I expected it, but a little part of me still had hope. I've never dedicated myself so much to something. Fortunate enough to have been offered a 4 year NROTC scholarship though, just waiting on a waiver. Excited to now start thinking about dorm decorations!

Thanks to everyone on this forum, reading your posts during this process was like stress therapy
