2024 USNA Football Season

Navy Touchdown on another Pass Play.:D Correct me if I am wrong but Six wins and a bowl bid?
I think it’s 7 now with the 12 game schedule.

Army/Navy AAC Championship to make the playoffs, #12 seed gets the loser of the SEC Championship…road game to Tennessee? That would be a worthwhile road trip….

Army Navy game will be for the playoffs.
I think Navy would have to beat Notre Dame for a playoff spot

Army is playing ND too, they’d probably have to win over them as well to be in contention

Edit: looks like Army-Navy is after the choices get made, they said that game wouldn’t be considered for playoffs…

This may be a contrarian position, but I would prefer them not to make the league championship game, which is usually the weekend before Army-Navy game. Gives Navy a bye, especially if there are injuries to address, and time to mentally focus on A-N. You can see where my priorities lie…I was rather fond of their independent years, but I know there were many reasons to join a league ($). I recognize the head-in-sand shortsightedness of my preference, but that is what it is.

A Bowl game after A-N is always fun, and depending on where it is, it can be an excellent away adventure. I have great memories of the Emerald Bowl in San Francisco some years ago. Did the Alumni Assn package. Still have some swag.

So I don’t understand the AAC championship game.

Could Army and Navy play twice in a row?

I was wondering about that too. That would be like the movie “300” two weekends in a row. Mentally exhausting to think about.

Looks like that could be a possibility if both teams win out. I looked up the rules, it’s the top 2 teams in the conference for conference games record

If both teams go undefeated and are tied for first (no head-to-head tiebreaker for A-N because that game is non-conference play, not considered for the conference nor CFB playoffs), then the team with the better CFB ranking will host the game

The two teams’ games against ND are non-conference play, doesn’t count for/against the AAC conference game chances (only for CFB rankings I presume)

We could see either Army or Navy hosting the other for the conference championship before the big “official” Army-Navy game in (what city is it this year?)

Glad to see Navy is actually passing the ball this year

Yes, they would play 2 weekends in a row (AAC and A/N). Either team needs to make the AAC ‘Chip to meet the “12 game minimum” schedule to qualify for the CFP.

So, for Navy to make the playoff, they need to make the AAC Championship and beat whoever they play.

Army-Navy game isn’t a factor in the playoff qualifiers, as the selections will be made before that game is played.

When was the last time Army or Navy hosted the other one for football? That game if it happens might be more exciting than the official one.
