Has anybody received any form of confirmation of receipt of their packets from either of the Ca senators? I have sent mine over a month ago and just now heard back from Harris, still no word on Feinstein. I know they are supposed to send the post card one includes in their packet, but I still have not received mine from either senator. I have called Harris and they told me to resend my packets both electronically and through the mail, Feinstein's office doesn't even pick up the phone. Would love to hear from anybody else that may be in the same boat as me.

Not to cause any angst, but Senators Feinstein’s nomination staff is administratively challenged. You are a constituent and a very simple, “we have received your nomination application which will be given all due consideration”, would be nice. One would also think that returning a self-addressed postcard is easy enough, but don’t hold your breath. If you are asked to send another packet, I'd suggest that it be sent by certified mail with return receipt requested. Consider emailing Senator Feinstein's staff so that you have an established electronic trail. Hoping that some staffer will answer the phone in California is fruitless.

Make sure that you have applied for all the nominations sources eligible in the event you aren't a Senatorial nominee. Also, you might receive a call from either senatorial staff late this year regarding your nomination. They will inquire if you already have a nomination. If you do have a nomination, the staffer may tell you in so many words, the one (nomination) you have is “good enough”. End of “interview”. Neither Senators like doubling up on nominations and prefer to spread the wealth.

Good luck in your quest for a nomination and appointment.

Thanks, I’m very confident I will get a nomination from my congressman, and I’ve already heard back from senator Harris’ office confirming they have my packet.

I vaguely remember this being an issue last year. With the same Senators sadly. Some never heard back at all. Not very professional. They serve at the pleasure of their constituency and should be making sure that nominations are a priority.

I am just glad Harris' office had an email available for communication, which I eventually after 2 months got an email back from. Feinstein's office does not have an email, only a phone number that nobody answers or returns messages.

According to Senator Schumer's website, my application packet must be emailed in PDF format to his office for processing. However, in regards to LORs, do my recommenders send their letters in a separate email from my packet, or are they emailing it to me? I'd like my LORs to remain confidential to preserve their integrity. I've tried contacting his office multiple times for clarification, but each response is met with a voicemail or no reply. If anyone has/had applied for a nomination from Senator Schumer, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Failing official guidance, I would have your letter-writers send you their letter in a sealed envelope they have signed across the flap. Go with that, but continue to follow up to ensure that is acceptable. Never assume.

The classy way to go would be to ensure you have provided your letter writers with a large, stamped self-addressed envelope to you, into which they can then put their sealed, externally signed business-sized envelope.

Hey, for the Nomination Essay is it Times New Roman 12pt Double Spaced? I have sent many messages to them but have not gotten any response. If you could let me know that would be great!

As in other years I am building a thread to put all individual state nomination questions in one place. In past years we have found that having 50 different threads tends to make a mess and crowd out other threads.

Please place individual state nomination questions in this thread instead of starting a new thread.

Thank you,

In my district, due dates are a month earlier than in years' past. Has anyone else seen this trend? You'd think it would be the reverse given the pandemic.

AZ McSally closes Oct. 8 by 5 pm. No exceptions.
AZ Sinema deadline Oct. 1 (last year that meant get it in Sept. 30)

That is pretty standard, and what I used for my essays.
