Being new to the process, what makes NJ-11 so competitive? Is it the quantity of applicants? Or that the applicants tend to be highly qualified from your area? Are they applying to a particular SA? I realize it isn't usually one particular factor, just curious since you mention it. Good luck BTW!Has anyone from NJ heard back from the senators yet on the interview details? Thanks! 70 applicants to USMA for NJ-11 congressional nom, which is a lot, plus the kids are smart. Also, we in the district thats one of the richest per capita in the nation, so these parents can afford their children internships, extraordinary opportunities, research programs...so basically everything is at stake here.Being new to the process, what makes NJ-11 so competitive? Yah, same question. Wonder what the numbers are for USNA and USAFA. Well good luck to you - sounds like the district is competitive in both quantity and quality.Interesting. How did you know the number of applicants to USMA? Do they publish these numbers? Assume you are a NYC suburb? I'm also in a major metro area with families like the one you alluded to. Good luck!
Most years in NJ-11, the applicant pool probably goes about 50 or so percent USNA, 30 or so percent USMA and maybe 10 percent USAFA. A few USMMA folks as well. I can't say I've been able to see the mix every year but it is clear that there are more USNA, USMA, and fewer USAFA on a continuing basis. The only JROTC that I know of in the district is Air Force. FWIW, the current congressman is a USNA grad and at least one of the state reps within the district is a USMA grad.Yah, same question. Wonder what the numbers are for USNA and USAFA. I was told by my CDC of these statistics, so I guess one of the important things is creating a good relationship with your field force rep./BGO/etc. I am about 13 miles away from NYC, so yes, an NYC suburb. USNA tends to be just as competitive as USMA in my district at least. NJ already has 24 LOAs which is pretty ridiculous compared to other states. I guess that's what makes us the most competitive state.Yah, same question. Wonder what the numbers are for USNA and USAFA. Yes - my DS is competing for noms from Roberts, Moran & Davids.Just out of curiosity, is anyone here competing for Kansas Nominations?
Are they applying to USAFA? I am also applying for Davids, Moran, and Roberts nominations; however, I am only applying to USAFA.Yes - my DS is competing for noms from Roberts, Moran & Davids.
