We were wondering if this might be a quiet week as MOC's are focused on other events right now - last week it was the events at the Capitol and then the inauguration this week. It's a tough wait.

Hello fellow Massachusetts applicant!

I have received a nomination from my Congressman (McGovern MA02) to the USMA and USAFA, but have not heard back from Senators Warren and Markey. I had my interview with Warren in mid-December and with Markey in early-January. My interviewer for Markey mentioned that Senatorial nominations would be handed out in late-January before the deadline.

Same here I have had interviews with both the senators and their interviewers told me that the nominations are handed out in late-January, so I'm assuming either this week or next week. My MOC has also not given nominations out yet.

Also does anyone know how they will reach out (email, mail, phone, etc.)?

Congressman McGovern reached out through email for notification of a nomination, while Warren and Markey both used email to schedule interviews with me, so I assume that email will be the mode that they are handed out. Best of luck.

Has anyone heard from Rep. Foxx in NC-5?
I was told they are not interviewing this year (COVID) and are going to nominate all the candidates they had planned to interview. The office was supposed to wrap up nominations last week and submit their slates.

A few years back DS received snail mail from Sen. Markey’s office, both times were rejections after he had already secured nomination from MOC. The Senators tend to not want to duplicate MOC nominations in our experience. DS is a happy USNA 3/C. Remember, you only need one nomination! Best of luck!

Anyone hear from Carson or Van Hollen from MD yet??? What about Sarbanes for House of Rep.?? My son still hasn't heard anything and nothing in the portals.
Think Senator Van Hollen will be releasing results late January, and Senator Cardin will be releasing results in the first or second weeks of February. Not sure about Representative Sarbanes though, I'm from a different district!

Can confirm that something similar is still happening.

Markey interviewer mentioned that Senatorial offices will work together with MOC to make sure people don't get 2 nominations from Representative and Senator.

Every MOC/Senator that I've known does not do this themselves - it is almost always run by in-district staffs who would not be very affected by last week or this weeks events. Most of these staffs exist to do the "business" which is largely constituent service and again, that is not the actual Rep/Senator themself.

@IronmanDaremo MD is not going to be notifying candidates until the last week of January/first week in February. That's for Cardin and Van Hollen, but I am unsure about Sarbanes because I am not in the same district.

I received an email about two weeks ago from my Representative (AZ-04) saying that I received a nom to USMA, USAFA, USNA, and USMMA. However, it hasn't shown up yet in my portals. Does this just mean that the academies haven't received his letter?
So one rep nominated you for four different SAs?

I reached out to the coordinator soon after I posted and got the same answer, but as of yet haven't received any notification. The office said they'd let me know whether I received a nomination or did not, so I'm hoping they haven't sent out anything yet since I haven't heard back.
