2027 State Nominations Thread

No. There was an email before the Holidays stating they have made their decision and will inform the candidates in January. Not sure why it takes weeks to send an email once decision is made, but yet another exercise in patience ig.
Correction: They will not inform candidates. They will update the SAs, so it should eventually show up on the portal.

My son just got a letter from Senator Casey. It said "They [our selection committee] would have recommended your nomination had you not already received one from another member of Congress." That's about the nicest let down I've ever read. :D My son took it in stride but I admit my heart sank a second but now I've recovered and am in full LET'S GO PA mode. Hope to hear some of you other Pennsylvanians back here celebrating today!!
Dd received a similar TWE from Senator Casey today. The rejection stings a bit but dd’s over it. Says she just needed the one and is happy knowing the MOCs spread the wealth so more Pennsylvania students have a shot. Now let’s get those PA appointments on the boards!

@bananafish I received an email notification from Rep. Clark (MA-05) a couple days go. If Rep. Trahan's office hasn't sent out anything yet, it'll probably come out very soon (follow-up email worth a shot too).

Has anyone heard from Senator Warren, Senator Markey, or Rep. Trahan (MA)? I have been interviewed by the first two but have yet to hear anything :/ Nothing at all from Trahan
My son interviewed with Rep. Trahan on the 11th and received a nom from her the next day. Interviewed with Sen Markey but hasn’t heard back and heard from Sen. Warren that they’ll be in touch.

Colorado Senator nominations came out today, about 3pm MST 😁 My boy got his to the USAFA.
Congrats! You're the only other from Colorado I've seen get a nomination so far :) My DS got one from our congressman to USNA (CO-06), but he said they avoid duplicates with senators, so we're not expecting one from Bennet or Hickenlooper. Did your DS get a phone call / email / letter or just see it in his portal?

Nice to see CO being represented. DS received an email 12/23 from DeGette with a nomination to USNA. Nice gift!

Congratulations to your boy on his nomination to the USNA. Yah, unfortunately in Colorado the senators work together to avoid duplicates to the same academy as do some of our congressmen. My boy only listed the USAFA as a choice, so he only expected one response from the Senators. Senator Bennet is who he recieved his from and he recieved an email yesterday at roughly 3pm. Check spam folders, because it comes from their nomination coordinators not their emails.

Hello, I wonder if someone could answer this,,,, my son received confirmation that his application was complete in Nov. He has not heard from anyone from our Senator's office since that email. Is it typical that the team conducting the nomination process not reach out to the applicant at all? We know that he has interviewed because a peer received a nomination. His last choice but still got it. Thank you.

Clarifying: your son received confirmation of his NOMINATION application?

It is common for the nominating committee/team not to reach out immediately - a letter is usually sent to the candidate, but it might take a bit to get it out and receive it, and some (many) do not ever call the candidate. Instead, he should be checking his USNA portal as well. His USNA application portal will show, much more quickly for many, whether or not he has received a nomination. My son's USNA portal was updated a week or two even before he got a letter.

Follow up- does anyone know how to reach the office of Senator Toomey to see how he ranks his nominees? I tried one number, but I guess it changed to the office of Senator Fetterman now that he is retired.
