2027 State Nominations Thread

We are waiting on two senators (house member interview is tomorrow). I'm sitting here wishing I could check DS's portal every ten minutes. He says, "There's nothing there. They told me around Christmas. Chill."

It's a good thing he's the one going into the military and not me.

How did our kids figure out how to be so unflappable? I am just ... like ... you!! I'm in awe of these young people!

For all of the NJ Residents -

Good afternoon _______ ,

Senator Booker will make his decision on nominations on January 31st. If you are selected we will contact you directly at that time.

I am from Ted Lieu's district and haven't heard anything. I received an LOA for the USNA on Thanksgiving and emailed his office the day after. I received a reply last week saying they were grateful for my letting them know, so I would say they haven't made their decision yet (as of last week). Good friend of mine received Lieu's principal nom last year and didn't find out until the middle of December. Just the waiting game for now I guess...I interviewed with Feinstein's team today and they said we should hear back within two weeks.
DD heard back from Ted Lieu's office; she has a nomination! Off to buy some celebratory chocolate! :yay:

@CHSIslander2023 - welcome! DD received an email Wednesday, the interview was yesterday. Very quick turnaround. Seems like last year Padilla's interviews went on for a while which might make sense it would be the same this year since it's hard to stack up a big number of them on weeknight evenings. Congrats on the JROTC & Presidential noms - it only takes one. I will hope for a note from Padilla for you and will keep my fingers crossed.

Hey everyone. I had a question regarding how many nominees Senators can nominate and have at each service academy. I was looking at the candidate's Senator Toomey nominated last year from his website, and there were 20 total people, but USAFA only had 2, while USMMA had 6. I thought the limit for each academy was 5? And why only 2 to USAFA? Any clarification is appreciated :)
