2027 State Nominations Thread

It means you have a nomination from your Senator. “81” usually signifies the junior Senator from your state. Congratulations!

This is my nomination that showed up in my portal. I am not sure if I understand why the Senator has a 81 next to it. I am not in the 8th district if that helps.

Thanks
Weird right? My DS portal also said 81, we couldn't figure it out and we're afraid it was an error as we hadn't heard from either senator. About 3 weeks after the checkmark #81 he did get a letter notifying him of a nom from our senior senator. So his was legit but we are still mystified by the 81. LOL

Senators don't actually have a "district" but there are 435 MOCs who do have a clear district with a number so this is a way to identify the senators in the same system as the House of Reps Members with a two letter state abbreviation plus 2 digit number. The numbers start at a number higher than any state has house reps so that they don't get confused. Thus 81 or 82 or in past years I saw 61 or 62.

Our son received notification the week before Christmas that he received a nomination from our congresswoman, Kim Schrier, district 8 Washington to USAFA! Has anyone else from Washington heard anything?

PA? I was thinking it's also the senior senator by the 1, but I received it from Toomey, but Casey is the senior senator. Casey's isn't out yet.
Nonetheless, a nomination is a nomination!

Seeing very little in previous years' posts about TN. We have heard that Blackburn may not notify until January and Hagerty, possibly on Christmas Eve. Anyone hear any different?
I haven't heard from Blackburn or Hagerty. What district are you?

Anyone have any responses from your nomination packets to Padilla and Feinstein? I haven't received anything and calling the office just go through VM. Thanks!

DD got an email from Feinstein office early December scheduling interview the same week. Padilla’s office emailed this week saying their process for this year is closed now. Our only hope is our Congressperson since Feinstein must be super competitive to get. 😏😫 Did your Congressperson respond?
No one has replied to us and when we try to call their offices and emails also no replies and have left several VM.

Hello @88regalo - Feinstein did interviews on December 4th and Padilla sprinkled them throughout the two weeks prior to Christmas. Another poster on here mentioned that they received a message from Padilla's office that their process was closed. As far as we know, no-one has heard yet if they received nominations or not ... if anyone has, please update us.

Assuming you applied for both your MOC and VP noms?!

Response reposted from your other post:

Hello! I got a portal change and it says "Illinois - Senator 81 Nomination received." I'm guessing this means I was nominated by my congressman? I don't want to get my hopes up since I was just rejected by Congresswoman Duckworth.
Congratulations!
