I have everything sent off. I am currently awaiting the 2nd board to come January 25th-29th of 2016. Does anyone know, how long after the board meets will they change the application portal and send letter? Also, how many will receive them?
Thanks for the replays!

You will most likely be notified by a phone call, or possibly email first. Ds's portal didn't change to winner until two weeks after the phone call.

It could take up to three weeks or more.

It seems they have a new system of notification, there was no one day that the portals were updated, everybody did not find out at the same time. It seems they are now notifying each individual personally through the local ROTC battalions. You'll just have to wait to hear from someone.

Nobody can tell the number of scholarship awards will be given by the second board, that number changes all the time. It is safe to say it will be many more then the first board.

DD interviewed with most local battalion, the PMS said that he should know who has been awarded scholarships about one month after, and portals changed shortly after that. Not sure if he was informed of that or if he is going on past experience, but that is what she was told to expect.

My understanding is that we will be back to the previous method of notifying winners. Letters will go out once the offers are made, and schools will be authorized to contact winners and status will change shortly thereafter. I'm thinking the living room notification initiative didn't go as well as planned. Board doesn't even meet until the 25th, so late Feb you'll probably hear if you are a winner.

So glad that 'big check' thing is done was a lot of crazy when some people were getting calls not even on their list and not the ROO and colleges that were watching their candidates not understanding how another school got info on their people. I do have to say although it was kind of accidental that DS ended up on their ROTC updates list Uof Iowa is very great at communicating with the people that have selected UI and Coe. I think they send a message every couple weeks with dates to know for submissions for board even a spreadsheet with all requirements and if complete. Very squared away!

We can see all the applicants, if we know where to look. I don't think there are a lot of proactive ROOs who take the time to reach out to their applicants and coach them through the process. A little excel magic and a mail merge can do wonders. I guess I'm not the only one who knows where to look.

Can you explain to me a faster way to figure out the process?

Clarksonarmy, out of the four schools my DD is looking at, only one ROO has been keeping track of her application, so I guess there are at least three of you that know where to look, LOL! His school was luckily the first one she visited beginning of her Junior year, it was nice that she had someone to ask questions and guide her through the process. It is a school a few states away, so it was nice that he kept in contact and provided her with helpful information along the way. He even went in and gave her feedback on her essay and the additional information she posted, and also emailed her when he saw that her interview was posted and that her application was complete, it was very helpful and also gave her confidence that she has done the best she can do. Now it is just a waiting game.

If anyone could do that, they would win a Nobel Prize.

The process is like a living creature, it seems to change every year. The best you can do is make sure you have your I's dotted and your T's crossed and then simply play the waiting game.

Until you've been boarded, you can change that information regarding schools. Regarding notification, DS's portal was updated long before we received a letter in the mail. As @clarksonarmy indicates, ROO's can access info. The local battalion claimed total ignorance which was quite discouraging since the school of choice was able to figure out the scholarship and to which schools it had been awarded. Hopefully you are working with a school that is as interested in you as you are in them. That should motivate some action on their part.

Hopefully I didn't miss this earlier but with AROTC some are getting multiple schools to choose from but are they mostly receive only one

Three schools are listed, in my son's case, they were his top three schools. He, of course, chose #1!
