2nd ranked nominee situation question

Within my congressional district, I applied two service academies and was 2nd ranked nominee for both schools. Another applicant who applied the same two academies received principal nominations for both schools. What can possibly happen to me if principal nominee receive appointments for both schools? Can I assume I will be the next choice for district slate since that applicant can only attend one academy?
(p.s.: I am 3Qed and on NWL)

It probably depends on when the 1st ranked nominee declines the second appointment. At some point they quit trying to go back and take someone else off the slate, at least as I understand it. I'm surprised a congressman gave to principle noms to the same person. Hos is it you know that the same person got both principle noms? Seems like only that candidate will know this piece of information.

I don't know if one person gets two principal norms ahead of me. It is my hyerthetical scenario question only. Just anxious to get some results and thinking wild for all possibilities. I guess I need to focus on plan B now. Thank you for the reply!

For sure not how the original post read. I was trying to figure that one out too! Good luck to you.

Your MOC would have to tell you. Cannot imagine a circumstance where they would. It’s better for them to not share as they want to please all constituents. Many (most?) don’t even share their method of presenting their slate (principal, ranked, etc).

If you read OP’s 2nd post here, he/she was posing a hypothetical question.
