I am a candidate for USNA, currently I have recieved LOA and I am pending a medical waiver. My question is in regards to USNA's policy on second semester senior year grades.
I am currently in 6 AP classes, and as AP exams are approaching, the coursework for each class is ramping up. I expect to make an A or high B in at least 4 of those AP classes (gov, macroecon, spanish, literature), and I had an A in every class except BC calculus at the end of first semester, in which I had a high B.
I am concerned, however, that despite my hours of studying in this final semester, I may get a high C in either (hopefully not both) AP physics C or AP calculus BC. I have read stories of people having their appointments revoked because their grade dropping from an A in a class to a D. I was wondering what USNA's policies on second semester grades is, and if my situation would be unique that I am taking 4 additional AP classes besides AP physics C and AP calc BC.
Any advice or input would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Your situation is not unique. Many candidates take nothing but AP classes senior year. Many excel. It’s near impossible for us to comment on how this affects your offer of appointment — should you get one — because we don’t know what your total package looks like.

Rather than worrying about what folks on this forum think, focus on getting those grades up. Are you doing all you can, taking advantage of tutors and office hours, prioritizing academics above all else? You should be. Best wishes to you.

Getting a C won’t hurt you. A D might raise some eyebrows and warrant a discussion. Do the best you can.

Yah I wouldn’t swim on this dilemma too much but like MidCakePa says focus on learning and try to get your grades up. If you were not asked for Fall grades the Academy just expect you to send them your final grades before you report. I think 1 or 2 C’s in AP Physics and AP Cal BC is not uncommon. You can place out through tests at the end of Plebe Summer. It is Chem you should worry about since Chem is not a slam dunk at USNA. Instructors run through the course as well. Chem is taught with little time for you to learn. When you have time, review Chem. And give yourself some time to de-stress.

I am with @CrewDad. That's probably not a big deal.

Do what you can to get through those classes with the best grades that you can. That means give up free time to do it. Prioritize. If you receive an Offer of Appointment, it will be good prep for the academic year after Plebe Summer. If you become a Midshipman, your first academic year will make High School seem easy, by comparison.
