How would I know whether or not I am 3Q'd? Do I get a letter or another form of correspondence from USMA? I have everything finished (nomination and DoDMERB completed)?

Portal update that states “candidate file qualified” I also got a and letter in the mail.

DS got a letter in the mail stating he was qualified academically, physically, and medically. That said, I don't see anywhere in the portal that shows "candidate file qualified".

I’ve noticed sometimes one thing will only be mailed but another is only in the portal. My
LOE, for example, was only sent by mail but not in the portal.

What matters is that you’re 3Q!

Crickets on DS portal and no 3Q letter, but DS believes he is 3Q with 31 ACT, Passed DODMERB and all green lights on the CFA. I really think it depends on the Regional Commander, some send more LOE’s than others and tend to communicate more than other RC. At least I hope so.

3q letters are or were sent by RCs but not all RCs send them. We got one out of three.

It is all dependent on the regional commander. Some send more than others. If it is a particularly busy time of the year, the number sent out is affected. For my application, I was given a 2q after semester grades were sent. I got medically qualified and was accepted days later. Never got a 3q. It is all really dependent on your RC. Also, if you’ve got good grades/scores, passed the cfa, and got checked off by dodmerb, you are qualified. You don’t need a letter to know that. If you’re on the bubble in some areas, send the admissions office an email and ask; it is their job and their duty to respond and guide you throughout the process.
