DS portal updated to the candidate* and at the bottom, it states this:

*When you submit your application you become a "Prospect." When USAFA processes your application you become an "Applicant." Should USAFA deem you eligible to compete for a direct entry appointment, the Preparatory School, or a Falcon Foundation Scholarship you will become a "Candidate." Note that you may receive a nomination and still not be deemed eligible to compete by USAFA.

Does this mean DS is 3Q?

3Q is:
qualified academically
qualified medically
qualified physical

NOM is separate from 3Q

Does this mean DS is 3Q?

Unfortunately that info on my portal came up long before I had finished with my DODMERB or CFA, so I would think that it’s just there for informational purposes, rather than a notification of 3Q status.
