I was curious to know if for the 3rd and final AROTC board, still issued 4-year scholarships to applicants? Ive had my application completed since October and have been adding more to it as time goes on. I'm still placed at "Boarded" on my application, so I was interested to know, if there was still a chance for a 4-year.

Information:
GPA: 3.5 (4.0 scale)
ACT: 21
NHS
Varsity Track - 4 years
Band
Choir
Active in Church
25-30 hours/week for work
School Leadership council member
Etc...

One never knows, but I'd be focused on plan B. You're ACT score seems very low, unless that's a typo. Leadership could be stronger as well. Is there still time to retake the ACT (I actually don't know... being a Navy/Marine oriented guy).

To answer your specific question... YES. 4 year scholarships are still awarded as a result of the 3rd board. As kinnem said, the ACT is below average for scholarship awardees, but that's only one part of your whole packet, so you never know. Hang in there. We are still waiting on board 3 as well. Good luck.

You still have a chance, hang in there, but do not miss this opportunity to get all your ducks in a row. The majority are 3 years on the 3rd board, 4 years exist, but from what was posted on stats from last year, 4 year recipients tend to have much higher than average (average being around 1200 SAT/26ACT and 3.60 GPA), as well as higher than leadership and athletics as well. Some 3 year recipients from the 2nd board were upgraded after the 3rd board as well, so seemed any leftover 4 years still went by the entire OML, not just who was left at the 3rd board. Remember, that some people don't board until 3rd board, so if their stats would of gotten a 4 year on earlier boards, that is who is getting it. Yes, don't give up hope, but should always have a plan B (what to do with a 3 year is a good one) and a plan C (what do without one), in your back pocket. My daughter this time last year was asking the same question, she had a 3.57 GPA and a 26 ACT, 2 years varsity plus other athletics, and some church leader leadership, lots of work and volunteer hours. She received a 3 year on the 3rd board. More importantly, she is a MS1 and loving life right now. Hang in there, it isn't over yet.

I was just informed, by one of my choices that the 2nd board (which my son's packet boarded for) was never looked at by the board....why would that be. It was boarded on November 28th but when they met in January they never looked at the packet, does that sound like good information? He said he is sure they will look at it for the 3rd board. Do they not look at all packets??? Does that mean he was never given an OML?

If I don't win a scholarship at the final board, will they send me a denial letter? If so when? I have housing deposits to put down by May 1 but it all depends on whether I get a scholarship

Everyone was notified the first week of April last year if they were awarded a scholarship on the third board, once that happens if you have not heard anything you can always confirm with Cadet Command if you want absolute confirmation that you did not receive one. Hopefully you will get good news and it will be a mute point.

They can only cover so many individual packets at a board meeting. They'll hit them all on the third board.

Applicants are only boarded once, then placed on the scholarship OML. After the 2nd board they look at the OML (with applicants who were boarded on the first board and second board) and award scholarship to those applicants who have a score above the cutline.

our son did too. I was reading a reply and now nervous that those who received ECP , most likely will not get an offer. I hope it's not the case.

I also received an ECP scholarship from the first board, even when I had on the application I was not interested in ECP. Still remaining hopeful on this final board!
