I understand the frustration, I am also feeling it right now; but, I know for my circumstances, I submitted my application quite late (so I did not have as many chances). Additionally, my PFA was probably on the mediocre end of the spectrum. So, on top of all of that, being a tier 3 made the job even harder (only 15% can be accepted by statute); sometimes it isn't meant to be. Which certainly sucks for us but, there are other options. Well, took a minute but add DS to the no pile too. He was in the 1400 category too but tier 3 and super late application due to not being able to run for 7 months and take the PFA. But he rallied and 7 days after he had 6 inches of hardware removed from his back he was on a bike and another week later out running a sub 8 min mile. Improved a little more from there. The kid (young adult) who wrapped their vehicle around a tree and did this because of a mistake, well he's on scholarship. Man this is frustrating. We watch our kids pour their heart and soul into these goals and it just flat doesn't work. He's got some big decisions to make about what comes next. Take his spot at VTCC and hope we figure out all the ways to pay for it or also head to ODU and he tries the CP route. And guess what, for anyone tracking my meltdowns and anger towards the Navy in general, we STILL don't have pcs oconus orders, under 60 days and counting...

The Navy has now sunk both of my ships (NROTC & USNA). ACT of 35 and a Tier 1 major. Even though I wanted to follow in my mom's footsteps, I guess the Air Force is where I was meant to serve. Hoping to get positive news from USAFA but still have my plan B in my back pocket of AFROTC 4-year scholarship which are hard to get out for high school students. I heard there were between 300 -500 offer this year. GO FALCONS!!!!
My DS got the TWE but is already looking ahead and plans on applying for the 3yr scholarship. He's looking forward to attending a great SMC for cyber security and will be joining the NROTC program there even though he didn't get the scholarship. Congratulations to all who were accepted !!! Go Navy !!!

I just got notified yesterday that I received my NROTC scholarship at USD! You said that all the San Diego schools were full, but I guess I slipped in!While I placed summary stats in a couple places this cycle, I am placing a quick summary here before heading out for the weekend. The most recent board selected 175 for 4 year Navy Option and an additional 5 Nurse Corps.
There were some alternates that were notified but not the full list. They are going to wait for this last board to send out the final alternate list.
And for the GW cross town folks, we had 11 selected from this board. We're almost at capacity but still some room

Have you confirmed with the USD unit that they have your spot? That is great if they confirmed it. If your going on just getting the scholarship yesterday and it has your 1st choice, then I would just make sure the unit confirms it. Just to make sure one hand (NETC) knows what the other hand (USD) is doing since USD filled to capacity pretty quick.

If your scholarship was placed there, you are good. NETC would not have placed it there if there was not a spot for you. There has probably been some movement with service academy appointment going out and other updates. You should probably receive some communication from the unit soon regarding NSI and a welcome, Congratulations.

My daughter has not but she was boarded in December and was an alternate, getting her selectee notice in mid March. She just had her Dodmets processed and DodMERB has it but there is one checkmark missing on ONE part of the prephysical form...and she was contacted yesterday by CMGO and now is in the process of getting that sorted out.... hopefully she will have her NSI selection date by early May!

DS submitted NSI packet in Early Jan when there was less traffic and it took 31 days for a response.

I'm still reviewing the final tally of scholarships handed out for this season, but wanted to share just a couple statistics for those who like to have those in your brain housing group......
There were a total of 1240 scholarships offered which included 82 MSI and 20 Nurse Corps.
There were a total of 752 that were not selected. So the odds were nearly 50% for selectees.
Of the non-select group, Tier 3 majors were 174, Tier 2 majors were 307, and Tier 1 majors were 271. I am still trying to figure that one out, and it's possible there is no correlation whatsoever.
Another interesting statistic is that there were 290 non-selects from the first 3 boards of the year. I don't want to read too much into that, but my takeaway there is, and we have said this on many an occasion, submit the highest quality package you can submit, rather than racing for a premature sense of "if I get it in early, I get more looks". That is, completely, totally, utterly, incorrect.
