See this movie. I saw today. Jackie Robinson was a great man. Dad was a freshman at a college in Brooklyn in 1947 just after a three year stint in the South Pacific with the Navy. Huge Jackie Robinson and Dodger fan. People in his Newark neighborhood would call him ni**** lover. He told us growing up of stories of Jackie that were in some of scenes in the movie. Dad said Jackie was courageous, inspiriational and especially magical. You had to have seen him in person. Best ball player he ever saw. Taking Dad to see 42 next week.

My Dad still has ticket stubs from the 55' Series that he somehow managed to get while stationed at Brooklyn Navy Yard. He is a HUGE baseball fan and loved to watch #42....

It must been an exciting game to watch. Only Series the Dodgers won in Brooklyn.
