500 USMA Appointments Mailed Out Today

Is it correct that a candidate cannot receive an appointment in this wave if they did not receive a 3Q letter (even though I think I am), but got a nom?
 
Does anyone know if any of the 500 appointments are from the National Pool?

I think the question was whether or not anyone whose portal does not reflect a posted nomination has received notice in this first wave that they have received an offer of appointment.

There seems to be a bigger backlog (particularly in some regions) of the portals being updated with documents and nominations in particular. The applicant knows they have a nomination as it has been presented to them or they have been called, but the portal still does not reflect it.

Having gone through this a couple of times, this year it seems that items and noms have been really slow to show up on the portal. Its all part of the process but there is an element of uncertainty when you don't see it in black and white (or green checkmarks :) on the portal).

This is the exact question I was looking for an answer to. My DS did not receive a 3Q letter, but he has been told that his file is complete, strong and needs nothing. He has emailed admissions...just waiting for a response.

That is what I would like to know! My RC doesn't respond very often, and my FFR doesn't either because I was kind of recruited and kind of not haha....anyway...I don't know if I won a nomination slate!

You are in KS right? If so, I believe you have the same RC as my DD and she has had no problem getting a reply. She did receive a 3Q letter in her portal yesterday morning before the announcement of appointments being sent. If you are recruited have you been in contact with the coach? I have read that the FFR and RC are not allowed to communicate with recruited athletes so that may be why you are having issues.

Yes, I am technically a recruited athlete (I think), and I also receive occasional emails from the Director of admissions for recruited athletes, however, the coach is not able to help me get in. That being said, I talked to my FFR/RC in person once and they both said they could only help me answer basic questions because of my athletic status. Still didn't receive a 3Q letter though! If we have the same RC, would this maybe mean that I am not triple qualified? Thanks!

Any clue as to when the next batch of appointments will be sent out?
 
I saw that the candidate portal will be down for maintenance tomorrow from 1600 to 1830....wondering if the first round of appointments will be available in the portal after that time? Got to hand it to WP, they have the anticipation level off the charts.

Well scheduled maintenance is an essential part of any system...given that it's also the cadet and staff portals that are down tomorrow as well, I don't think there's any correlation.

My DS got a 3Q letter and NWL notification, today.
My questions to @Padre101, is;

1. What would the total numbers of appointees at this time, including the 500 just got appointed? 600? or 700?
2. How many are to be appointed from the current NWL? 450? or 1000?
3. How big is NWL in numbers currently? 1700 or 2000?
3. What are the chances of getting selected from this NWL? I have heard from 70% to 25%.

My DD received her 3Q letter yesterday and I also had the same questions.
