Do they do a complete physical as well? That is going to take a while to get thru all of these kids.

Well, at least he will get a short mid-day nap-------------likely to be the only one he'll get for awhile.

BTW: I was the same way at his age. Scared the life out of my Mom a couple of times; finding her son wide eyed on the floor surrounded by blood and a sharp implement. Dad used to laugh his arse off; he had the same problem---it goes away over time.
 
No, there isn't a full physical. A few quick stations of blood draw, breathalyzer, eye check, shots and if any waivers given a once check over. And yes it takes a long time. The stations that get backed up... final try on and change over into white works, once over by doc, shots. It honestly goes pretty quick.

So, I'm generally clueless about cigars but how does that affect a blood test if smoked within a couple days of the test?
 
I don't know the scientific answer to this but USNA doesn't care about tobacco use in these types of test. Plebe Summer is tobacco free which isn't a problem for 99.5% of Mids (very few Mids smoke). Heck cigars tend to be a big part of military celebrations such as dining ins, dining outs, Marine balls, etc.
 
Cigars would only show up as nicotine (they're organic after all), but please eat before smoking a stogie. If you're not used to the nicotine load, you'll turn green and be quite miserable, and quickly. A big meal compensates.

I have some "imported" cigars aging for celebrating DS's eventual departure to 2022 PS ;)
 
Cool. DS was in Corps at Texas A&M. Cigars were common. He wants to celebrate at his going away party in June. Cigars are the celebration of choice for him and his buddies.
