Can anyone share how the 60% is determined? Is is top 10%, 20% or actual rank?

Are the scores - rank and ACT weighted the same?

Thanks!

People referring to that are probably talking about that study from 10 yrs ago done about USMA (you can search older threads to find that document). That was not the main purpose of the study and people often make sweeping conclusions about what it says. No one on here works in admissions, so none of us know the exact WCS formula used by any of the SA's. It is also possible the WCS formula has changed in the last 10 yrs, so may have been true then, may no longer be true now.

Totally agree with @time2. Even if you knew the exact formula and you could calculate your WCS you would not know the scores of all the other candidates you are competing against. If you want to dive into it here are 2 Rand reports that contain some information about WCS scoring. Report back if you find anything of interesting to share.

Congratulations. WCS calculation is now a moot point for you.

Only admissions knows how scores are calculated. However, it is unlikely that it is actual rank - 10 out of 50 is very different than 10 out of 500.

Congrats!!

When you opened the BFE a light covered your smile, angels singing from some where and a breeze of fresh flowers filled the room! Admit it!

Push Hard, Press Forward

We live extremely rural. Our post office won't deliver packages due to our 75 standard poodle who is rarely outside but Cujo to those he doesn't know. My husband saw the notice and went to pick up the package because we could not let cruel irony rain down on our son today. He has a friend in Thailand who sends him packages. It was the BFE! Son had an appointment this afternoon and husband caught up with him in town. Pressed the envelope to the window and huge smile on son. I finally just got home from a swim meet for #3. Quite impressive. It has been an awesome day!
