For those of you in the know.....DS went 7 for 7 on his Third Mates Unlimited Tonnage examination!

He only has 2 graduate classes and 2 marine transportation classes (fast boat rescue and tug/tow certifications).

What a ride it has been. Commissioning and graduation in December, here we come.

My checkbook is crying tears of joy!

That is excellent!!! My son is just a MUG, but I hope down the road he has similar success.

jackson1989,

That is so awesome that you DS is beginning his journey. Never in a million years would I have thought that my son would have embraced being a maritime cadet or the career that is about to embark upon. It has not been easy and a maritime cadet must multitask just like any other academy participant.

We had a group text going all week and could not wait the 2.5 hours of each testing session to see if he passed each test. The last test yesterday took like a lifetime to hear from him. Just hearing the excitement in his voice was priceless!

He will take a Naval reserve commission and hopefully be gainfully employed by graduation. He was sending out his resume to some companies which had visited the school over the past year.

Keep your fingers crossed! Gig 'em!!!

I'm sure he will do quite well! It is amazing the rewards that hard work can reap! What a proud time for your family!!!
