This comes up all the time. One "C" in one high school AP class by itself will will not change if you are academically qualified for admissions. Now a few "Cs" in Math/Science with lower than normal Math SAT score may raise some flags.
It is a fairly objective process where you are scored and compete against other individuals on the same nomination slate.
Do you get beat out by a person that never got a "C"? Maybe, but one piece of data does not make the entire file.
So, if the Admissions Board is sending the request, and they only determine whether the candidate is "qualified" to get a shot at the Nom/Appt Board, then exactly what does the request signify that they are on the fence about, and how common are these requests? It would seem to me that either your 6 semester grades are good enough or they're not, all on their own. In other words, what are they using the 7th grades for?
Also, has anyone who's had their 7th Sem grades requested been extended an appointment, or a LOA? Care to share your story?
When USNA asks for 7th semester grades, they request it to see some kind of improvement or consistency but I've dropped from an A to a C. That's terrible. But this gives thread gives me hope. This comes up all the time. One "C" in one high school AP class by itself will will not change if you are academically qualified for admissions. I read on another thread of someone who got a request for 7th semester transcripts, they got the notification in December, and received an appointment on March 4th,2016.
