It has now been two years since I joined this forum and I am thankful for each and every one of you that have helped me (as a parent) over the past two years. I cannot ever find the words that are adequate to ESPECIALLY thank "Christcorp" for all that he has shared on this forum. I am truly thankful (daily) for his posts and all of the information that he so generously and thoughtfully and honestly has shared with all of us. When I first joined this forum, I was a parent whose son wanted (so greatly) to attend the USAFA. However, he had a medical problem (that at first resulted in an NQ from DODMERB) and was not a student who was going to be the valedictorian of his class. However, "Christcorp" continued to write incredible answers to countless questions as well as individual answers to my own questions. THANK YOU so very, VERY MUCH, because my son is now a C3C largely because of your continual words of encouragement as well as words of wisdom about how to tackle the USAFA application process and the DODMERB obstacles. I still want you to write a BOOK about applying to a service academy. You are filled with so MUCH KNOWLEDGE and your words were priceless to me during the "waiting process" from USAFA. My son had dreamed of becoming an Air Force officer and although he still has two years until he will graduate....you "Christcorp" are one of the reasons that his dream is being fulfilled. THANK YOU FOREVER!!!

Batmom. Your words are greatly appreciated. As I've said in the past many times, this forum is great because of the contributions of everyone on it. ALOs, alumni, current cadets, as well as applicants and all the parents. The academy and the process are always changing and we all continually learn new things. I just happen to be not shy and definitely willing to say the tough things and how to play hard ball. The air force has always been a very important part of my life and I don't sugar coat to make people simply feel good. You have to work hard and fight hard if you truly want an appointment and a possible air force career. Your son is a perfect example of this. I am so happy for him and you that he fought and didn't five up.

I do wish I was able to spend more time on the forum. Like I use to. Its been a very busy year with my own applicants, my full time job, and regular family life. I do continue to watch the threads and try to give input when I think it will contribute. But thank you again for the kind words. And I look forward to seeing you on parents weekend at Thudgate. Take care. Mike.

My sons graduated in the same year as Christcorp's and he was always a great source of support for me!

Echo/ditto to all above statements!

Appreciation and gratitude, Mike!

Christcorp makes you want to move to his district just so he can be your ALO!
~~~ Of course if he was your ALO, I am thinking the folks would be required to attend Thudgate and drink some horrible cough syrup :wink: aka Jeremiah Weed. A price well worth the cost to pay...at least once, :shake:
More than anything Mike epitomizes what our military is about...a family.
YES, Thank you Christcorp. :thumb:
Our son is now a C1C. I have also found Christcorp's contributions to this forum extremely helpful in understanding the USAFA and Air Force experience from both a cadet and parent viewpoint (there is no prior military service in our family).
So I would also like to also take a moment to say, "Thank you!" to Christcorp and everyone else who has been so extremely helpful on this forum during our USAFA adventure. Hard to imagine we'll be heading out to graduation soon!
