Others can give more details on A-day, but typically it's the parade in the morning (maybe 9ish AM start??) and when its over you can spend approx 2 hours with your new C4C, but they can't leave the academy area. Many bring picnic lunches that are gobbled down quickly so you can visit and perhaps bring monitor or printer to your 4* if their squadron allows them.
For PW -- look at the USAFA site for the time line of the weekend, but if you arrive Thursday afternoon you can probably meet your 4* at the Chapel or Athletic Center and bring them dinner. Our parent association has a pizza dinner at Arnold Hall and our cadets can join us. Food service at A-Hall can be very slow as lots of people have the same idea -- so bringing take out to the Chapel / Athletic Center might be easier.
Friday you attend classes with your cadet, can attend an info fair in Arnold Hall, get picture taken with your cadet there also. 4* are required to go to lunch at Mitch's -- family invited too but you need tickets (your cadet will get info on that).
There is also a parade on Friday morning too. Fantastic aerial demonstrations by the gliders, plus Wings of Blue jump, and Falcon demonstration.
On Friday, after your cadet is done with all activities they are released to you until Sat morning when they need to report to their Squadron Tailgate, which you can attend also, but they must "escort" you into the tailgate area .
Sunday I think there are tours of Jacks Valley (optional)
After the football game is over on Saturday they are released to you until 7pm Monday night, so you might want to plan your departure from CO until after that. For those of us on the east coast, that means a Tuesday morning flight out.
Be sure your cadet brings all the stuff they need for the weekend with them Friday night because it will be rather difficult with all the traffic Saturday after the game to get back to the Cadet Area.
Other words of advice -- remember the altitude is a big issue. Pace yourself and drink lots of water and apply lots of sunscreen.
