Hello! I am a current student in college looking to contract in March with the Army ROTC program at my university. But, I have a question I can't seem to find an answer for anywhere. So... I had a subtotal colectomy back in March of this year (2009) and have recovered very well. I am back up and running 5 - 6 miles everyday and I'm in the best shape I've ever been in. Now, I was looking through the DQ codes on the DoDMERB website and bowel resection happens to be on the list, so I wanted to ask and see if anyone has had experience with this issue, or if anyone knew if my condition would have a higher chance of being waived. Just an added note, I can obtain a letter from my gastroentestinal doctor/surgeon completely clearing me for active duty military service. Thanks ahead of time for any replies!
