A little bit of help for a newcomer please...

I can't tell you enough to enjoy your Senior year. Even if you go to a regular college, you should always remember high school is one of the greatest times of your life. Senior year should be the best year out of your 4 years of high school.

For some of us here, it's probably a VERY hazy memory of a loooooooong time ago. But I think I can remember in a fuzzy sort of way that I had some fun, particularly dancing a waltz or two at some party or whatever from those new popular artists Mendleson, Brahms, and Mozart. :shake:

Do what you can to get your acadmey package (and applications to other civilian instituitions of higher learning) strong and in on time. Then stop sweating what will be out of your hands and instead enjoy the rest of your time in HS. Trust me, lots of folks on here are envious of your current situation!

We all can tell you to enjoy senior yr., but at the same time we do understand how your emotions are running right now.

Believe in fate and what is meant to be is going to be at this point.

The one thing you will never have a second chance at is making memories now. Those funny ones will lift your spirits during BCT. The hard times will keep you going when you are ready to throw in the towel because you know you made it through bad times before and can do it again.

Go see a movie, hang out and play video games. Do anything to divert your mind, the more you do it the more it will leave your mind and that will allow you to enjoy the last 6 months of freedom.

Trust me, come June you will say it felt like I blinked and I was a SR in hs and than I blinked again and now it is all over.

I will definitely try to enjoy me sr year. Personally, I am extremely excited for college (no matter where I go). But, I'm sure (since I've been told by countless adults) that I will miss it. For now I just have to find a nice balance between the anxiety of waiting for letters and doing fun things with friends and family. Thank you to everyone for being so supportive. You all are incredible people! :)

LOA = Letter of Assurance = good chance you'll get in but don't count it as for sure. As for LOA's, in order to be competitve with the over academys, like usma, etc, USAFA is giving out more LOA's than they used to. This is so the other academys giving out more LOA's won't snatch up all the good candidates first.

ex: if you get a usma LOA, but haven't heard anything from usafa, you're likely to accept usma before even recieving an appointment/loa from usafa.

they're sending out more, and they're sending them sooner.
