The National Museum of the Marine Corps

The National Museum of the Marine Corps Museum is located in Triangle, Virginia just outside the gates of Quantico. It's striking architecture is reminiscent of the famous statue of the flag being raised on Iwo Jima by the Marines during World War II.

Years ago before the Museum of USMC I would go to the Naval Yard in DC where there was a very very small USMC museum exhibit and a much larger and pretty interesting Navy Museum.

You could see the entire USMC exhibit in 5 minutes.

But on a different floor was the actual USMC historical center. I could ask for after action reports and then sit there reading the original after action reports submitted by our patrol leader. Not on line write ups but the actual,paper report written and submitted so many years before.

Years ago when my dad was stationed at Port Hueneme, I rode my bike to the Seabee Museum! Maybe 1977?
