A year behind in rotc

"A year behind" can mean different things. Please explain what year you are in and offer more details.

I transferred from a two college to a four year and started ROTC as a ms2. I had taken both the ms2 class and the ms1 class fall of 2018 to catch up. In the spring of 2019 I decided not to take the second part of the ms1 class because I was sure I was going to basic camp and wanted to focus on the ms2 class. Things came up and I cant go to basic camp and I cant start my ms3 year without finishing the second part of the ms1 class, which will set me back a year in the program.

Have you talked to your cadre? What did they say?
They said I cant start the ms3 class until I take the second part of the ms1 class which I didn't take. I cant go to basic camp this summer and will be in rotc in the fall as a "directed study" then I will have to take the second part of the ms1 class in the spring.

So it sounds like the answer is to finish the ms1 class in the spring. So seems to me you have to focus on academics and leadership. No reason you can't do that even without the ROTC academics. Make yourself invaluable as a leader, which is actually what you should be doing even without the issue you face. Assuming you're not on scholarship you'll need to pace your scholastic academics so you don't graduate too early. I'm sure your cadre will have some advice on that score. Seems like you might be in college longer than you planned. If that's impossible for financial reasons then consider whatever the Army calls Officer Candidate School to commission after you graduate.

EDIT:Just one man spit balling here.
